Digital clutter only matters where it causes a problem: a phone that will not take another photo, an inbox that hides the email you need, a card statement full of plans you forgot about. A big collection that works fine can wait.
Tell the calculator which devices you use, how much time you have and what is causing a problem, and it builds a ranked cleanup plan with steps for your own phone, computer and email. It checks backups before anything is deleted, leaves areas that work fine alone, and saves your progress on this device.
How the plan is ranked
- Problems come first. An area only gets steps if you pick a problem for it. “No problem here” puts it on the leave-alone list.
- More problems and bigger collections rank higher. An area with several problems, or a very large collection, comes before one with a single small problem.
- A full phone pushes photos and apps up. If your phone is over 90% full, those areas move to the top because they free space fastest.
- Your time sets the length. 15 minutes gives one step from the top area. An hour covers up to three areas. A weekend covers everything you flagged.
The minutes next to each step are rough guides for a typical collection, not measurements. Stop when your time is up and come back to the rest.
Why the backup check comes first
Deleting photos or files is the one step you cannot always undo. If you say your photos or files are not backed up, or you are not sure, the plan adds a backup check before any step that removes something, and leaves the removal steps out until there is time for both.
The check is quick: confirm your photo app says backup is complete, or open a few copies on another device or drive. The full method is in how to back up, then delete photos from your phone safely.

Keep it from coming back
- Add the monthly reminder. The button under your plan downloads a calendar file for a 30-minute reset on the first Saturday of each month. Open it to add the event to Apple Calendar or Outlook, or import it into Google Calendar on a computer.
- Use the weekly reset. The 15-minute weekly digital reset covers the small jobs that stop clutter building up.
- Come back to the same plan. Ticked steps are saved in this browser. Copy the plan link to open it on another device.
Your answers stay on your device
The calculator runs in your browser. Your answers and ticked steps are saved in this browser’s storage, and the plan link holds only your choices, such as “iPhone” or “Over 90%”. Nothing you choose is sent to us. Use Start again to clear it.
